Starting Nursery
Nursery at Hillyfield Academy is a vibrant and active learning space. As there is much to learn for children joining nursery for the first time, we have made a 'Getting Ready for Nursery' video to support parents in preparing their children in making this transition as smooth and stress free as ppossible.
Starting Reception
We are really looking forward to meeting all of our new Reception parents and welcoming you into our Hillyfield community. Our Reception teams have prepared a short video for you. Please watch the video with your child and talk to them about their new learning environment. You will also find helpful tips about how you can best support your child and prepare them for their transition into school. If you have any further questions please contact our school office who will pass your query onto a member of the Early Years team.
Being Year 6 Ready
Year 6 is a very busy and exciting year for students at Hillyfield. In Year 6, the children work toward sitting their SATs assessments in May, prepare for secondary school and take part in wonderfully exciting residentails and trips. With your child being in Year 6, there is also some pre-planning for parents when it comes to applying for a secondary school place in October. Please look at this video for information about your child moving from Year 5 to Year 6.
