Primary Admissions Procedure
Admissions to Hillyfield Primary Academy are managed by Waltham Forest. Detailed information on how to apply for a primary school place is available on the Waltham Forest Website which you can access by following this link: https://walthamforest.gov.uk/content/applying-primary-school-place
Applications for a 2020 Reception place open on 1 September 2019 and the closing date for on time applications is 15 January 2020. If you apply after 15 January your application will be considered as late and will be processed after all the on time applications.
Reception places at Hillyfield are highly sought after, so please complete your application in full, including all the relevant information and before the deadline.

Admissions Criteria
The Admissions criteria for admissions to Waltham Forest schools is as follows:
Priority 1 – Looked After Children or previously Looked After Children
Priority 2 – Medical or social reasons or Children ‘At Risk’
Priority 3 – Siblings*
Priority 4 – School Staff Children
Priority 5 – Distance
Hillyfield follows the same criteria order as a Waltham Forest community and/or voluntary controlled schools, but our sibling criteria is different. The Hillyfield sibling criteria is stated below:
*Sibling means:
• A full brother or sister
• A half brother or sister
• A step brother or sister
• A foster brother or sister
• The child of a parent or carer’s partner living at the same address
In all cases the sibling must be living at the same address and must still attend the school at the time of admission of the child for whom the application is being made.
If you do not provide the name and date of birth of your child’s sibling when you make your application we will not be able to take it into account and it will affect your child’s chances of being offered a place at that school.

In Year Admissions
All admissions to year 1-6 or for reception after the start of the year must be done via Waltham Forest who will allocate places if they are available. For more information see their website https://walthamforest.gov.uk/content/year-admissions

If your child has an identified Special Educational Need or Disability and you would like to apply for a place at Hillyfield, please contact the school for an informal discussion in the first instance.
Reception Admissions
If you are considering a part-time place for your Reception aged child, or a deferment, you are advised to read our Admissions Policy for full details of the schools procedures and expectations before making a request.
Nursery Admissions
We arrange our own admissions for Nursery in accordance with the criteria set out in our policy see the Admissions Policy for more information. The deadline for applications for nursery is 15th January 2020.
Each Nursery offers a variety of sessions, subject to availability.
Nursery on the Hill: for children aged 3-4 years old.
Nursery at the Park: for children aged 2-3 and 3-4 years old

Park Site 2-3 Year Old Nursery Admissions Application Form For September 2020
Applications for Nursery September 2020 have now closed, this is a waiting list only application and will be considered should places become available.
This application form is only for children that are born between 1st September 2017 – 31st August 2018. If your child’s date of birth is outside the date range, your application will be rejected.
Park Site 3-4 Year Old Nursery Admissions Application Form For September 2020
Applications for Nursery September 2020 have now closed, this is a waiting list only application and will be considered should places become available.
This application form is only for children that are born between 1st September 2016 – 31st August 2017. If your child’s date of birth is outside the date range, your application will be rejected.
